So I have always been a small guy, tall I guess around 6'0 but only about 160lbs.

Well I have started going to the gym, but I need to put on some more weight, but still eat right, healthy, fuel foods...

the catch is that I am in school so I don't spend a lot going to those organic stores or spend loads of time shopping around different places...if you need to know I shop at winco (kind of like costco)

So any ideas what I can eat?

thanks

Fresh fruits and vegetables, some good carbohydrates (bread, etc) instead of sugary ones (chocolates, etc.), lean meats with plenty of protein (chicken, tuna, salmon, etc.), take some Centrum vitamins, and some protein Whey powder supplements after your workouts. Good luck! :)

I'm about 6'4 and I've been trying to gain some weight as well. I started off around 175 and I'm about 186 now. How did I do it?

Well, (Captain Obvious would say) I just ate more. Yes, I even ate a little more junk food...biggie size those value meals. Get a protein supplement (power to make into a shake)--that helped. Also, eat lots of tuna....and work out...should work.

edit: I'm still working on some weight gaining...

I picked up some high fat cottege cheese today, I heard that will help put on the pounds, but junk really? Its obvious not to go overboard, but I never thought of that. What protein supplement do you reccomend?

GNC is a rip off on their protein. You can find much better and cheaper stuff at your local cosco or even better... online.

Frozen fruit and vegitables are great as well.

Around 6'0? That means you're 5'10. 160lbs is about average, so don't bother gaining any more weight.

For good quality proteins, consider things like nonfat yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu, and lean meats. But if you're going to be eating a lot of protein, make sure you consumer extra water with it - protein is much harder to absorb without sufficient water. And make sure you get an equal increase in fiber.. you're going to be stopped up real quick.

Why would you get high-fat anything? You should never be trying to get more saturated fats. if you really want to consume extra calories, eat extra monounsaturated fats like nut meats (almonds!) and healthy oils (olive, safflower, peanut).
