Nitrites are an extremely effective food preservative. Without them, we'd have never stopped rampant outbreaks of food poisoning. So take your pick. There is also no conclusive evidence that the tiny amount of sodium nitrite in foods is in any way harmful to humans.

HFCS has been explained to you in two threads. It's no one's fault but your own you continue to believe myth over fact.

What people don't seem to realize is that there would be wholesale death were it not for the very food additives they cry about. They both prevent food poisoning AND starvation.

Unhealthy eating habits are indicative of unhealthy life styles in general. I bet you are more likely to smoke if you consume these foods on a regular basis as well. And guess what studies have shown to cause lung cancer. You are making the classic mistake of these type of scientific articles.
