Eat foods with no labels. This is what we learned in de-stressing class (one of many things). Things like fresh vegetables, fish, meats etc. Non-processed foods. And no MSG.

How about you just don't look at the labels? My mom goes "OMG these Pot Pies have 800mg of sodium and a days worth of fat in one of them!" Now she refuses to eat them. All because she looked at the box once, she knew they were bad for you, but had no idea until she read the box. I ignore labels and just enjoy my food.

That attitude is one of the reasons why so many people have hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Most people are completely oblivious to the fact that they're probably ingesting 2-3 times their recommended intake of sodium because they don't read the box.

Most people don't realize they get a full day's worth of cholesterol in their 3 eggs that they eat in the morning, and they continue to eat more and more cholesterol throughout the day.

You don't need to read every label on every food, but you should at least be aware of what you're eating and how that affects you.

3 eggs in the morning? Yeesh my stomach would hate me; I can't eat more than a bowl of cereal before work/school.

We used to get boxes of cans etc that had lost their labels from the food bank. It was like food-can roulette, we never quite knew what we were going to have for dinner until we tried it. Never did figure out what some of that stuff was.

Not sure how that would contribute to de-stressing?

but how do we know what everything is if we take all the labels off the cans?

Milk has a label. What about that?

According to some people, cow's milk isn't designed for humans.

So in the interests of going natural, I decided to try breast milk. But they don't sell it in the grocery stores. So I asked a girl there if she could hook me up with some.

Now I'm banned from all Safeways in a 10km radius :\.

To argue the point:

I do see validity in it. Too many people today (Watch Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution) depend on overprocessed, crappy, boxed food. It's their entire life. Learning to make a few dishes from scratch won't kill you, nor is it prohibitively expensive.

But the point he made wasn't to go insane, all natural, all organic, straight from the field people. Learn how to cook wisely with what is available. Frozen vegetables are as good as fresh, and last longer.

Cow's milk is designed for cows... obviously.

Milk in general is designed only for babies, this is why many of us lose our ability to process lactose as we grow older.

Milk's benefits are extensive enough that we drink it into adult hood. And Cow's Milk is readily available enough to do the same. If you think about it though, it's damn gross.

Egg cholesterol is harmless.

Sure, cholesterol in general is not all that bad, it's saturated fat that you have to watch out for. The point is, eating a lot of some of this stuff on a daily basis like a lot of people do will cause health problems later on in life.
