EasyTune 5 Pro "Good tool for overclocking?"

Have a GA-X48-DQ6 enroute.

I have only done modifications in BIOS.
Does anyone have + / - comments regarding this Gigabyte utility?

I am planning on OC'ing my E3110 and DD2 1066. But I have never tried using a utility to do it, other then my Graphics Card.

I checked it out on a Gigabyte p965 will a Celly and an Gigabyte AMD 939 mobo.

If I remember correctly it has auto/manual options that allow up to a 20% OC. It was easy and painless on the Intel - I think on the AMD mobo I still had to go into the bios to set the HT and memory divider.

There may be a vcore adjustment - not sure about the ram voltage ...

Overclocking via windows is a bad idea any way you look at it for your processor. Using the bios removes windows from the equation and will give better results. Overclocking ram is done via bios as well for best results. Get the gainward expertool if you want easy overlocking of your graphics card or use rivatuner for a more indepth look. Check the stickie at the top of this forum for help in overclocking your chip.

I had problems with easytune in general with my AM2 board. In fact I have removed it and OC from bios only. My machine was not even stable at stock when easytune was installed. Prime would fail within minutes.

If you remove it like I did make sure you get rid of the whole file it leaves behind in Program Files because it will still fuxor your machine, It sucks.

BTW easytune can bork your bios chip too
