easycap and virtualdub

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it. If not, I apologize in advance.

I am trying to use easycap with virtualdub to get better resulting video. I am using divx codec for compression, and am getting good acceptable results there. However, I am unable to generate any type of audio. One of the problems is I cannot get easycap to work with radium mp3 codec (either that or there are compatibility issues with PS3 audio output?). I'm not sure what the problem as I have quite a few selections that do not seem like they have any compatibility. Are there any suggested audio codec for easycap? Thank you.
