Easy way to find car impounds?

Hey people,

I realized that I might be able to save some money by buying a car directly at an auto impound auction instead of doing it through the dealer. Does anyone know where I can find info on these places and how they work?

It's usually a matter of public record. Search the newspapers in the legal notices/auctions
