Easy to use editing tool for video?

I've been using OBS to record a few desktop and game play videos and now my 10yo son is really excited. He wanted me to ask you guys if you know of any simple to use editing tools. He wants to add text boxes, add memes/images, and turn up the gamma so people can see in those dark games(his requests not mine). I think he has aspirations of becoming a youtuber.
Anyway, I tried googling but there are so many programs out there and I have no idea what a good one is. If anyone has some first hand experience and would care to make a suggestion he would appreciate it.

Well ease of use is very subjective, editing a video is a pretty complicated thing to do but it's much harder for some then others, for free there is avidemux it does all he asks for and it's pretty easy and straight forward to apply filters to the video track but it's not a drag and drop interface.
Free again there is aviutl wich is a bit more feature rich and a proper non linear editor, again the interface is pretty technical.
Also windows movie maker can still be found online which many people seem to find easy to use.

If you really want to make him a very nice present for christmas then go for this
VEGAS Pro: Discover Creative Freedom Humble bundle.
You will get vegas pro 14 edit, the previous version (15 is out) of one of the best video editors with loads of tutorials and youtube videos explaining every and any thing, together with a host of web, graphics and sound software for $20.

Thanks for the link. I checked out a few vids on youtube and it looks like Vegas pro 14 should do what he wants. It doesn't look to complicated either at least for the simple stuff he wants to do so I went ahead and bought the bundle.
