Thanks, that seemed too hokey plus automatic backups are nice. Found what i'm looking for - Mozy!

I used it before but forgot what it was called. 2 gb free + automatic backups.
 
I copy and paste docs to google docs, which saves them in an easily retrievable form, attached to my gmail account.
