I haven't been in the market for quite some time now, but would like to build a new comp for my parents. Anybody know of a good, stable mobo that's easy to setup. I don't plan to OC and I'll probably be running an Athlon XP. It'd be nice if everything was integrated...the basic lan/video/audio etc.

My last run with a easy to install mobo was the ASUS A7N266-VM.

Shuttle's MN31N is nice, with onboard dual-head VGA, onboard Firewire, onboard NIC, USB 2.0, full nVidia hardware audio and support for all but two AthlonXP's (the 400MHz-FSB ones). I made my mom a system with that. The nVidia driver package is all you need, just like the good old A7N266-VM.

thanks..ill check it out...how bout for an athlon 64 processor...

i just talked to a guy from Best Buy and he said they're getting ready for the launch of Windows Longhorn before the end of the year...

I wouldn't mind upping my system for that. Any suggestions?

There's a Gigabyte microATX board for Athlon64 that I was looking at: link to it at you-know-where I believe someone said it includes 64MB of onboard RAM for the onboard video, even. Quite interesting. I'd be even more interested if it had native gigabit Ethernet on it.
