2 Beef Briskets, rubbed with spices of your choosing, fat side up, in the oven at 250 degrees, for 8 hours. Use pans or cookie sheets.

Trim any remaining fat off (should not be much).

Slice 0.25" - 0.5" thick.

Add BBQ sauce and Soft sub rolls.

I should get a Foreman grill. I looked on Amazon and they were as much as $90 though! How much do I need to spend on one? Would that be the most effective thing for me to buy? I only have a cast iron grill and a nonstick pan. Would I be better buying more pots and pans or just get the grill?

I don't really care about reducing my fast food intake (pretty much all I eat 🙂) for health reasons, although I heard you do feel better and more energy, but I'm wondering if I can save some $$ by preparing meals at home.

Ideally you're going to need a few pots and pans if you want to cook at home. You don't have to spend a ton though. What you'll really need is a good sized pot (should hold about 6 quarts), and a medium sized saucepan (2 quart or 1 1/2 quart will be about right). I also use our frying pan with a lid pretty often, it's deep which makes it easier to do things like stir fry or pasta sauce (fry up sausage and then dump in the sauce, eliminates one dish to wash).

If you life off fast food you'll feel so much better if you start cooking for yourself. The quality of what you'll eat will be substantially better. Also, for what you spend on fast food in a day you can eat like a king. If you watch what's on sale you can eat a nice steak dinner for the cost of eating a value meal at McDonald's.
 
I got an electric wok and it made stir frying easy. Just throw in a bunch of chopped veggies with some oil and soy sauce and season to taste. Ginger, garlic, cilantro, and hot pepper flakes all work well. For vegetables I normally do bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, and sometimes pea pods. Some meat is good too. Chopping up a hot dog is the easiest but throw in some cooked bacon and it's way better.
