Easy software to show CPU % usage in game

I think my CPU isn't being utilized fully in some games, namely Ryse: Son of Rome (framerate dips, while GPU is nowhere near 100%)

I use EVGA Precision X to monitor my GPU

I just press the '-' key and it pops up in the corner, showing my GPU clock speed, usage, temps,e tc...

I need something similar for CPU. I know it exists but I wasnt able to get it working before. I think the program I used is HWInfo but Im not sure. Can anybody help me out?

Id like to be able to press a hotkey, and have the info pop up while I am in-game what my CPU usage % and clock speed, temp, etc all are.

Precision shows cpu load I thought.

You could get the boarderless full screen app so you can run task manager or real temp on top of the game window. It's on sale on steam for a buck and a half.

Why not use a program that graphs the data, like intel XTU? You can run that minimized, and then look at the graph.

If your CPU is fully utilized, don't you need a better CPU?

Ryse has a problem with textures, they are being loaded(streamed in) the moment they are needed which works for console's API but not for Dx11,Dx11 stops rendering to load in the textures.
This is extremely noticeable when performing special moves (quick time events) on enemies.

You can fiddle around with the ini files to lower texture quality.

MSI afterburner does exactly what you want. It can show per core usage and/or total CPU usage on screen but also shows a graph if you want to tab out and look at it. You can also assign a hotkey to enable or disable the overlay while you're in game. HWinfo can be used alongside MSI afterburner to add whatever sensor you wish to the onscreen overlay. Here's a small guide: http://www.overclock.net/a/how-to-use-rivatuner-afterburner-on-screen-display-and-more

Thanks man. Didn't know HWinfo is that much useful!
Thanks again

I fixed Ryse by running Origin.

Sounds weird, but it works. For many people running Maxwell GPU's the game won't fully utilize the GPU, it will run like 60-80%. I thought it was a CPU bottleneck issue.

But if you leave Origin (yes, the EA client) open, the game is able to fully utilize the GPU.

I thought it wouldn't work, and that it was the weirdest fix, but I tried it and indeed it does work.

That is odd. To be clear, this is a Steam game that requires Origin be running! Origin in theory has nothing to do with Steam! Any theories as to why this is? One person did say "It's a problem related to the windows timer resolution and is a known issue with Cryengine games."
