Mary's gender is irrelevant. After the Dad did the no-no, Mary's mother withheld sex forever. Thus, Nono was the last child. There could be dozens of other children in that family, but only one could be a female. Mary or not, it still doesn't matter. Nono was the last child and thus the last daughter.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't name their kids based on easy to determine patterns.
