Easy nVidia driver question

Picked up an FX5900 and noticed the current XP driver was 53.03 which is WHQL certified.

I looked in the archives and found 53.04 with a newer date and the only.main difference is that it is a WDM (also WHQL) driver. I went with 53.03 but wondered what are the ups and downs of those two versions vis-a-vis WDM. I know what WDM is but am curious what are the pros and cons.

Also why is a newer driver in the archives?

TIA

nVidia doens't submit all of their drivers for certification. It really makes no difference, it used to be that overclocking would be enabled by default in some of the non WHQL drivers and I actually tried to download those instead(even though clicking on CoolBits only takes a few seconds). There are newer drivers then 53.03 available on nVidia's site, they have added quite a few new features based on everything I have seen on them(running ATi now so I haven't tried them myself).

WDM is just for windows media. Unless you mess around a lot with desktop media files, don't bother.

Windows Driver Model, it generally refers to the WDM Audio and WDM Video Capture drivers for VIVO and Personal Cinema cards.
