Is there an easy way to view files in an Iphone? (from the phone itself) not thru a computer.

My wife has an old Iphone 4 (not siri) (not jailbroken)and I am having a hard time finding a file browser, granted I only downloaded 2 programs so far but still unable to view files.

All I am trying to do is copy and paste a few files (ebooks) into her Nook ap folder.
In android device this is really easy as all you need is a file browser.

My ultimate plan is email her some of the books from our android tablet and then hopefully she can download it then transfer the books from the download folder into the into the nook ap documents folder so that the nook ap can find the books.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sure there is an easy and simple way to do this and one of our resident Iphone gurus can point me to the right direction and right free ap to get.

Thanks

I didn't think was a way to view the file system non-jail broken. Do you share the same Nook account? You can probably just sync it across devices if those ebooks are registered to your account correctly.

Edit I did find this so that may be a problem:
Barnes & Noble also stated that new iPhone and iPad applications will be coming soon, but with the Apple limitations on the file system I am not sure they can give you all the capability you get with the Android application (such as access to your EPUB files).

Jailbreak + iFile.

I'm quite sure that's the only way (I'd really like someone to prove me otherwise... only thing I hate about my iPhone...).

Most of the books was not purchased thru Barnes and noble, we only use 1 account. The only way I found to use the nook reader (which we realy like) and see all our books on all our Android tablets was to manually place them in the sdcard-->nook->my documents folder.

If this cannot be done on the phone itself can it be done manually using a computer. Is file structure visible in windows 7? I dont think she even has her itunes synced to this thing yet (bought 6 months ago).

Dont want to jailbreak as I have to research the process and be responsible if it breaks.

I told her before she got the Iphone that she is on her own as I know nothing about iphones. Just thought it would be a simple process of droping files in a specific folder.

Try getting the eBooks from dropbox and allow the phone to open them with whichever it pleases. It might default to iBooks, but I found that iBooks browses my camera's manual a lot better than my Nook Color ever did.

That actually might be a good idea, still have not created a dropbox account but familiar with the concept.

Hopefully Iphone will give an option to use nook reader ap.

Just tried it, it does not give an option to choose nook ap to open the book just "Ibooks"

What's wrong with using iBooks? Just curious, as I've found it's performance is a bit better than either the Nook or Kindle apps.

Nothing really have not tried it myself, its just that wife prefered the nook ap, will have her try it if I cant figure out this file browser thing.

I guess choices are not really an apple thing. But it is an approved apple ap (nook)

Jailbreak + the Cydia version of iFile - not the one on the app store. :)

Thanks for the response guys. It does not look like a "phone file browser ap" is possible with the Iphone without jailbreaking.

As mentioned before do not want to jailbreak (not my phone).

Will just use drop box to give her my books and let her use the native iphone reader.

I just thought it was an easy task to browse the file structre like we do in windows/linux/android systems. I guess it is locked down so that people do not go around messing around in there and break there phones.

Thanks again
