Easy Integration Problem

Use integration to find a general solution of the differential equation

dy/dx = x sqrt [ x - 3 ]

I've only learned U and dU. What do I do? 🙂

Nevermind. Do you know integration by parts?

If U = sqrt [x-3]
then dU = 1 / ( 2 sqrt [x-3] )

I don't see how that helps me.

See my edit. It didn't work, as you ended up with the integral of x du.

x=u+3

you do it from there, it's easy!

So you get

integral [ (U+3) * sqrt[ U ] ]

you get...

integral [(u+3)(u)^(1/2)]
