Just one question. Why do you want EZ Creator when you have Nero? You know about the SERIOUS bugs with the newest EZC, don't you?

Are you on Team AnandTech? :)

Are you using Windows Media Player? Have you done any upgrading to it recently through the WMP website?

If so, that is what has screwed it up. It happened to me.

If I remember correctly, you will have to uninstall the Roxio software including any registry entries and reinstall. A simple uninstall through Control Panel will not do it.

I can't say about 5.1 but 4.1 said install WMP7 first before installing or to uninstall ezcd before upgrading to WMP7. I know this applied to 2000 I don't remember about 9x.

Same situation for 9x.

If the only change you've made is the GF2 driver upgrade, that's what I would suspect.

I didn't use the burner for about a week after upgrading WMP, so it was difficult for me figure out what happened.

Try uninstalling Easy CD and reinstalling.

Try going to safe mode and looking for your controllers and devices there. click on the offending devices and remove them from the system. On re-boot Windows should pick them up again. Check the Controller and remove that as well. You're in a situation to experiment.

Have you go to cmos set cdroom to auto cos sometime bios auto set it up to manual mode.(even before it is in auto mode but for some reason bios will set it back to manual)there for your win2000pro see your drive but other burner program see your burner at a cdroom. try that one it may help.

I had to reinstall the os to get mine working properly. But my situation was worse, it wiped the drives from my system. Would not even read them.

Have you checked the MS knowledgebase? It seems to me I ran into an article about easy cd when I was searching for something else. Although my search was on W2K it may not pertain to win9x. Worth a try though.

I don't even have a folder called Creator API. I am running EZCD 4.01. Version 5 is I believe a total overhaul. I am afraid I can't help with that.:Q
