Ok, I'm using Easy CD Creator 5.0(306), and I just use it on occasion to burn data cd's, I have never used a direct cd, and I've noticed in my task manager (I'm using Win2k), directcd.exe is always in there every time I start up.. I haven't found any options yet to rid myself of that annoyance. I dont like to keep more processes running than I have to, and would rather not switch burning programs, but will if that keeps up (a few times caught it taking up quite a bit of memory and CPU time, although not doing anything with it).. Do any of you have any suggestions as to getting rid of directcd.exe from starting every time I reboot or logout/login?
Thanks in advance, any and all suggestions appreciated.

--Also, I did a search in all the forums for "Easy Cd" and found nothing pertaining to this-- ;)

If you search for EZ CD I'm sure you will get more results, however, what you need to do is this:

Start/Run

type msconfig - hit enter

This will bring up the System Configuration window

Goto the start-up tab on the top RHS

Scroll down the list of programs that are launched while your PC boots up and then de-select the options relating to EZ CD.

Select apply and then ok - you will then be asked to reboot to make the changes.

Now u should be starting without any EZ CD gubbins in the system tray ;)
