Easy CD Creator and 2k

Last time I had 2k installed I installed Easy CD Creator 4 Pro then rebooted my sys and got the "BOOT DRIVE INACCESSIBLE" error. I don't think it was talking about my HD, I think it was talking about not being able to spin up one of my ROMs, burner or the norm one. Anyone know any compliancy probs with 2k and Easy CD Creator?

Did you leave a CD in one of the drives? I'm just thinking perhaps you had a non-bootable CD in there and the BIOS couldn't boot off it.

Might have had a CD in the drive... didn't even think about that. Darn. But that's in the past. Anyhow, after installed Easy CD Creator this time I got a nice service error so basically I scratched it. Now I think I'll bow down to CDRWin and keep Creator for my 98se partition. 🙂

TheVrolok, when you install adaptec, it slips a thing called the ASPI layer, its a set of burner drivers, into the registry.
Older ver's of adaptec put in a layer thats incompatible with win2k, thus your prob.
You'll have to get into safe mode to save your install, or use the floppy's and do a system recovery, some how.
Microsofts web page can tell you the recov details. There's a program that'll install the latest aspi stuff, after you install adaptec, so you don't have to pay for the latest versions of it, and its a lot faster.

This is the Aspi Layer updater, very usefull

BTW,
It's a known issue that most 0lder vers of adaptec will majorly mes up win2k, with their wierd drivers, I nearly got scared off win2k because of it. But Its easily remedied, now if only they had decent drivers for my soundcard for win2k.

He should not need to do a recovery or a full re-install of the OS to fix this problem. Simply uninstalling the Adaptec software should remove the ASPI drivers that are causing the problem.

There is a free update for EZ CD Creator that will make it compatible with Win2K. Version 5 has native support for win2k.

Or better yet, switch to Nero.
