I just switched out my CD/DVD ROM and CD writer for a Lite-on Combo unit SOHC 5232K and a DVD/CD writer (Pioneer DVR108). I am using Easy CD Media Creator 7 (tried Nero6same problem)
when I attempt to make an audio CD any longer than 70 minutes in length I run into problems. The last two or three tracks do not write properly...3rd last track will play about a minute then clicking noise starts, as the track progresses it gets worse. 2nd last and last track will not play period and locks everything up. I have tried everything I can think of, but still same problem.
Any suggestions? (tried creating CD using Windows Media Player, same problem)

I thought of that first, but two units, different manufacturers doing the exact same thing...unlikely! Both units are just a week old.

The usual cause is poor media. Are you using quality CD media? Are your burn speeds set to high (try around 24X)?

Take a look at the CDs in the daylight and look at its OUTER edge (CD's/DVD's work from the middle outwards) does the film look thin or damaged in any way near the edge (its a pretty common problem on el cheapo unbranded media).

Also at one time (cant tell you if its still true with later versions) Easy CD and Nero DID NOT CO-EXIST VERY WELL AT ALL ON A PC.

Looks like it turned out to be media......new burners do not like "el cheapo" Cicero media. Yes I know Nero and Easy CD do not like each other, but I uninstalled one before trying the other. Unfortunately I am not impressed with either program, their tech service sucks! (previous experience) Each program has its positive points, but also too many negative ones too!.
Thanks for the help folks....not much hair left to pull out!
