I recently upgraded a clients computer for WinME to XP Pro and the transition went smoothly except for the fact that CD-Creator 4 is incompatible with XP Pro. I removed the program and informed my client that it would be necessary to either upgrade to CD-Creator 5 or use another program. But now everytime the machine reboots it proceeds to display the following error message:
Obsolete Application and Device Drivers
App/Device Driver File Name Manufacturer Help
CD Recording Software cdralw2k.sys Roxio, Inc. More Info
CD Recording Software cdr4_2k.sys Roxio, Inc. More Info
While it does not appear to effecting the computers performance, I would really like to rid this system of the current issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Fnd and delete those two files, then do a registry hunt for any instances of roxio or ezcd or anything like that and delete the keys. Then check the win.ini and system.ini files for good measure. Should fix the problem.

I would completely remove it from device manager, and do a full un-install of the cd-writing software, the cd-rw will be redetected on start up no problem
