easy 9500 -> 9700 question?

if i try the soft mod and get artifacts, uninstalled the hacked drivers, and reinstall the legit drivers from ATI's website, will the artifacts go away? thanx

And not to mention your card is only a little faster than a Radeon 9000 PRO and slower than a Geforce 4 TI4200.🙂

Yes, and be sure to check/test the card at default clocks 270/275 first. Some people try to immediately test the card with the 9700 Pro speeds of 320/310 and get artifacts due to the limmitations of the ram ratings. Most hacked cards will only do 295MHz on the mem with-out artifacts.

I got a 9500 pro and modded it with the warp11 bios. Its rock solid @ 344/311. I use the ATI drivers not the omega ones as they where causing problems.

what kind of card (ati, sapphire, etc)? also, L-shaped memory? lastly, where did u buy it from and do u have a link to the instructions for your mod? sorry for all the questions

Its an ATI Manufactured card. If you are referring to the layout of the memory on the PCB, then yes its is "L" shaped. The memory is tiny BGA form factor. The PCB is the reference design of the 9700.

^This is the link where I got the BIOS upgrade for the card. All it really does is remove the code string that locks the card from being overclocked. Once you complete the flash you can use the Radeonator tweaker/overclocker program

^ This is a link to the radeonator tweak tool! Very hard to find all of a sudden.

It was purchased at Xtremegear.com @ $180.00+ship.
