Eastman Kodak CDR Media--EDIT: ANAND'S WATCHING!

Where can this be purchased? I'm running low on my stack of my Imation CDRs, and I'd like to buy the best CDRs available.

Sony gold is supposed to be good too. Like the Kodaks.
I'm sure you can find the Kodaks at one of those dedicated CDR sellers.

Anand is watching what? And so what?

Good luck with your search.

Is it true that Kodak has removed CD media from its product portfolio?
Kodak issued the following statement on January 24, 2002:

Eastman Kodak Company is announcing the discontinuance of its blank CD Recordable media product line effective January 1, 2002. Sales of CD Recordable media will continue as long as product inventory is available. The decision to discontinue the CD Recordable media product line was a difficult but necessary one prompted by poor financial performance. The commodity CD-R business has not met the company's financial expectations and the market shows little sign of improving in the future.

I stocked up on these in early 2002, just after the announcement and during a "close-out" sale. They burn at about 16X and are indeed excellent. I save them for those "special" data burns that need to last 100 years.

I figured more people would view my thread that way. Apparently it worked.
Oh, it definitely works for getting views. But I don't think you get any more real replies. Most people will be too annoyed to have been deceived to actually answer you.

Hey, it's legit if he is watching. Like in a petition or something. >.< Like my thread.

When it's merely in a thread to get views, when Anand isn't watching, then I could see anand getting pissed.

Wouldn't it be funny if Anand came into this thread and said "Peekaboo"?

Currently using Taiyo Yuden with great success but I'm not sure what the longetivity rates are?

I disagree. This thread received no replies, save the worthless comment made by FishTankX (who knew of the thread already because we regularly converse via various instant messaging clients), until I added the bit of false advertising.

Back to the good old days of people putting thread titles like "***AMD BUY'S INTEL! LINK INSIDE!!!!!***"
and then "Now that I've got your attention, I've broken my motherbaord please help..."

Anyone who buys that is a dope. I see your point, however.

Now would somebody please clarify what the second fiddle comment was about?

Anyways, I was just wondering why you would want Kodak gold so much. Do they have a significantly higher projected lifespan than most other brands?

Also, I was also under the impression that Taio Yuden CD-R's were the best when it came to quality of their CD-Rs, perhaps i've been out of the loop too long.

About the same as the "ATI vs. Nvidia, help me choose" threads in the Video forum. :disgust:
