East Coasters: Look up at the sky tonight

STRANGE CLOUDS: Sky watchers on the east coast of the United States--especially in Virginia and Maryland--should keep their eyes peeled tonight, Tuesday, June 24th, for some beautifully glowing milky-white clouds. NASA rockets launched from Wallops Island Virginia, will create the trimethylaluminum clouds in order to study the ionosphere--a layer of our atmosphere much affected by space weather. The launch window begins at 9:30 p.m. EDT and ends at midnight. If tonight's launches are scrubbed for any reason, backup dates extend from June 25th through July 10th. You know, I've come to the realization that the bad parts of Jersey are mainly on the borders. Right across from Deleware, by the Memorial Bridge it's kinda industrial, plus DE stinks pretty bad there anyway. Same goes for across from Manhattan. That's where all the landfills and factories are. Of course there are other not so nice areas, but I'm beginning to think that all this "New Jersey" stinks propaganda isn't all it's cracked up to be. Most of Jersey seems pretty damn nice to me. I guess one downside is how it's so damn crowded there.

Shhhh! It is designed to keep the shoobies and bennies off of the beaches and out of the pines and highlands! And it's WORKING!
We keep the border areas crappy as a from of fortification.

From being in the South, I've heard those tales, too. However, I did travel up there for friends' wedding. They got married at a place called Perona Farms. Beautiful place.

I had to change my opinion of the state seeing that area. Although flying back home, we had to go through Newark, almost made me change my mind back.

See my post above. Fly into Newark. Do not stay in NJ 🙂

Doing a good job, last time I was on the Jersey Turnpike all I saw was the "Northern Lights"

Well, all I know is that from my friend's house in Montclair, NJ the sky is certainly not the clearest but it's by far the worst to the east. That's right, NYC. It's just this luminous purple/pink/orange haze. Don't get me wrong, I love the city, but it is noticebly worse than the surrounding north Jersey sky.

montclair! we're looking to buy a house there but the market is WAY inflated there now. houses are going for 100k over asking due to bidding wars.

but back on topic, the lights will supposedly be visible from jersey as well. hopefully hoboken will be able to see it even though there is significant light pollution from nyc.
