2100 HS seniors were told they were going to a career fair. Instead it was basically an anti-LBGTQ church service instead.

“According to reports, many of the students came away from this event feeling traumatized, as the 'Day of Hope' was centered on a number of sexually charged, anti-LGBT issues. This reportedly included separating the kids by male and female, and forcing male and female-transgender students to participate in discussions with the opposite sex. Additionally, one parent said that a number of transgender students were bullied during the event.

Other students poured water on top of transgender students' heads without any repercussions by any of the adults present,” Brittany Bryant, a mother of a transgender child and high school biology teacher, wrote on Facebook. “They talked about rape (and) forgiving the offender, suicide, prayer leadership, and many more dark controversial topics. We had females in the bathrooms crying due to the topics of discussion."

Forgiving rape and abuse….. Since it’s always projection with these assholes somebody ought to investigate them.

After the outcry by students and parents the school responded with

“the event was structured to assist students with exploring what options are available after high school, along with allowing students to participate in breakout sessions and student-initiated activities and projects."

"By providing entertaining activities with an educational focus, this event was an elevation of a traditional college and career fair...We look forward to seeing what our over 2,100 student participants will continue to achieve with the resources and knowledge gained from this event."

I've been following some of these moral panics on twitter (libs of tiktok blasted earlier about one in Ohio), and what amazes me is how sex obsessed these conservatives are. And not in good way. Their fears project their perceptions of sexuality, and those aren't good. They basically see sex as something that must be controlled, by them, and that the absolute worst must be automatically assumed about any deviation from their control. There's no reasoning or criticality. They can be shown images that could be from anywhere, or told things that don't even make the slightest bit of sense, and they immediately jump to the worse case scenario with no proof whatsoever.
And mark my words, they intend to act. This could end up worse than the Satanic abuse panic of the 80s-90s. And LGBT is their target.

Never forget, that it is because the GOP ignored their former standard-barer and let all the crazies in, precipitating the rise of the Reagan, and thus the inevitable downfall of democracy from that point forward

It is time to start imposing punishing taxes on these so-called churches. Drive them into dissolution after any hint of sapping public funds while imposing political terrorism on not only their voluntary congregations, but also in cases like this, where they pretty much kidnap students into indoctrination stunts like this against their will and against the will of their parents and guardians.

School districts that collude with this sort of terrorism also need to be sanctioned. The school board should be dissolved and up for reelection. What the GOP demands of its people and of this country is patently anti-American.

Use their own Bible against them. Christians have been ordered to pay taxes by Jesus of Nazarene and the Apostle Paul. It's right there in Black and White.

They only goal of these kinds of religious people is the expansion of their own personal power and to impose their will on the rest of us. They could give a fuck what Jesus said.

Then we make them.

According to the Bible, Jesus never ordered the deaths of anyone. But he did order first century Christians to pay their taxes to Caeasar.
