Easiest way to remove a driver in Ubuntu

I am having some wireless driver issues in Ubuntu. Basically the ones I installed are not working (driver invalid).

I think I found ones that will work. Do I need to remove the invalid ones? If so, how do I do it? I looked on the Ubuntu forums and couldn't find an answer and figured I'd get a quicker one here.

Thanks.

Well, I tried to install a driver I was told will work and it was telling me the driver was already installed....so I am just reinstalling the OS.

If anyone knows a way to remove a driver, I would still like to know for future reference.

Most Linux drivers come with the kernel so there's no installation necessary so how do you add the first driver?
