I know you can go into the registry and edit a few strings, but I was wondering if anyone knows a an easier way? What I am trying to do is have the "My Documents" folder on my d drive rather than my c drive, just in case of c drive corruption.

Thanks guys!

Pray tell, where might one find information on the hard way? :)

It was rather easy actually. Just go into reg edit and do a search for "My Documents". Everytime you find one that contains the path to the folder on your hard drive, just modify the string to the new location.

On my machine there were about two dozen strings, so it takes a couple of minutes. Copy and paste is the easiest way.

Just right-click on the My Documents icon on the desktop and hit the "Move.." button. No need to "hack" the registry.

Oreo's method just copies the current folder to another location. The proper way is to edit the registry to make the change permanent for future writes/reads on My Documents. TweakUI is capable of making such a permanent change.
