Easiest way to overclock FSB and RAM?

What is the easiest and more stable way to overclock the FSB on an 8INXP mobo? I don't kow much about the voltage, frequency, in BIOS to do it that way and The gigabyte utility doesn't like to keep the CPU overclocked after reboot. I'm not saying I want to overclock to extreme, but it would be nice to run at 3 GHZ and keep it stable and Fast. Thanks
