easiest way to migrate from XP to W7 with SSD?

I'm getting the bug to do some upgrading. I currently have a Q6600 running XPPro SP3 32 bit with 4gb ram and a 500gb hard drive. I want to buy the Crucial 64gb SSD and install Win7 64 on it along with my programs, MS office, Sony Vegas video editing and Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS4, no games.

1. If I buy the Win7 upgrade can I do a clean install directly to the new SSD or do I have to upgrade the hard drive OS and then move to the SSD?

2. Once I have the OS running on the SSD is there a simple way to transfer my existing programs from the old hard drive to the SSD or am I just going to have to bite the bullet and reinstall them? I do have an Acer WHS box with backups of this computer, can I selectively restore programs from that to the SSD or does WHS only restore the complete hard drive? I've read the docs but this is still unclear to me.

Thanks for helping me out with this.

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking of getting the new OS and SSD now and then upgrading MB and CPU when the new sandybridge Intel's come out next year.
