im interested in learning french...i really like how it sounds. i dont necessarily have a reason, but id like to be able to speak a language besides english.

as a side note, id also like to be able to understand Alizee, simply because she is so hot, but this is not the reason i want to learn french by any means (well, like 1/4 the reason ;) )

so, aside from moving to the country and being immersed, what can i do to learn french in my spare time? i have a lot of spare time and not a lot to do with it, so it is easily something i can do myself if there is a credible way to do it.

take a class at a local community college. I personally don't beleive the best way to learn a language is to just be tossed randomly into the enviorment. I would think studying it for 2 years first (prefereably through school if you can, because otherwise many people just won't have the incentive to learn) and THEN going to the country you want to....that way you have the basics and can easily converse and learn things.

French sucks. <-- Took it for 4 years and it's useless to me.

good point. i meant a lot of people go to countries and know nothing, but come back fluent. i dont have time to do that lol.

i also cant take classes at a local community college because i am still in college...it needs to be something i can do myself.
