ok I thought that I can just register www.mydomain.com for example and have it forwarding to my address. TOO EASY TO BE TRUE. I think I need to make my own nameservers if Im not mistaken. What is the easiest way to do this win2000 server or linux and after I do this will I be able to do things like smtp.mydomain.com and blah blah blah

Thanks

Two answers:

You can set up DNS software to handle the name translation from domain name to ip address.

Or you can let an outside source handle your DNS. This is the easier route but not sure about the cost invloved. I use bellsouth for all DNS services and have been pleased.
