Easiest way to get to 9th dan

In most martial arts, 10th dan is a kind of honorary rank that is generally impossible for the average person to attain. But say you want to get a 9th dan in some martial art. Which martial art makes it fastest/easiest?

Of course you can invent your own martial art and just give yourself any rank. But to get to 9th dan in any legitimate, recognized martial art, how many years do you have to take classes for, and how many times per week? Can you speed up the process by paying more, or practicing at home? Do you have to stay for the whole class, or do they take attendance in the beginning?

Also, how do they guarantee that you won't lose a fight to a lower rank? (Because the whole system is pretty pointless if that can happen.) Is there some code of honor that prevents it?

I don't know anything about martial arts, but generally if you're asking for the easiest way to master a thing, you probably won't ever master it.

Martial Arts are about discipline and dedication. You are already asking the wrong questions and would probably be asked not to return if you show up with that attitude from the start.

Was it wrong that my first thought was to tell the first 8 Dan's in line that there is a topless girl with nice boobs around the corner?

It's not an easy path...... you cannot cheat.

You must be able to break concrete blocks easily.

Start at an early age.

Then after a long time, you must be able to do this to get to 9th Dan.

What a bizarre question. If you want the easiest way, go buy a belt and put some stripes on it. If you want to learn martial arts. learn martial arts. Rank means nothing aside from an indication of progress to gauge yourself by.

If you learn in a strip mall from a place that hands out belts like participation trophies rank doesn't even mean that much.

That's a really important technique to learn as long as you land on your feet. Either you get the kick in or you get a really good head start on running away.

Yea, there were a few schools around here with trash reputations. They churn out 'blackbelts' to have more teachers for their schools. Their quality showed at the tournaments.

My nephew started lessons from a place like that. He got like 4 belts in and he couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without tripping and hurting himself. Perhaps the clumsiest kid on Earth, the only way he could win a fight would be to fall down and trip his opponent. My sister called when he passed the "test" (which I assume involved writing a large check to the school) for his orange belt and my only thought was "Do you have another son I have not met?"

I took Tae kwon do for 9 years when I was little. I never made it to black belt because I never really cared to learn the routines to take the tests but there were plenty of people who got there within ~2 years. Like 10 year olds. There were many degrees of black belt. I didn't think martial arts schools had reputations. They are in business just like everyone else. I have never heard of people saying they went to an elite driving school before they got their driver's license.

I think with youtube, it would be pretty easy to learn the routines now since you do not have to be there a ton of time for someone to show you the moves.
