Easiest way to back up 121GB of AVI files?

This is a noob question pretty much. I have 295 .avi files, totalling 121GB, that I need to back up. I have 30 DVD-R's and a DVD burner. Nero's crappy interface does not give me any clues to showing me how to have it automatically split the 121+GB into 25+ DVDs, and adding them all into a rar or zip file and have WinRAR split the file at predefined intervals takes ages to add the files, even though compression is off.

Too expensive. I already have an enclosure but it'd be at least $60+ for a suitable drive. Plus, I got 30 DVDs for $10, and I'm still in high school, so I basically have unlimited time. I just need a way for Nero/whatever to create some kind of batch setup and all I have to do is pop in a new DVD every few minutes and continue the burn.

Do you want to read each file individually? If not do the winrar thing. Try to use nero, but just make a few discs as image files so that you can see the file layout.

It would be really helpful, actually now that I think about it, almost required that I can read individual files. Then again, I'm keeping a copy on my local drive, and the chances of me needing an individual from the backup copy is highly unlikely. So actually, no, it's not required. I guess I might as well leave my computer on overnight making 4.4GB split rar files?

67.4Gb of .avi's with 105 files.

Nero Backit Up is doing almost all the work for me.

Buy more DVD-Rs.

I didn't know nero even had the ability to split all of those files into several DVDs. I think using winRAR is the second best way (since you know that it should work). The first best way is to just buy more DVDs and put the AVI files on the discs directly. What do you think will happen if you happen to lose one of the discs (physically or it becomes damaged)? Poof, there goes your archive

Yeah, that's a good point, there's no parity with that method [WinRAR]. I don't really need a high amount of data security, but I'd like the peace of mind.
