Easiest software to encode .avi/.mpeg to DVD

I use visualhub on my mac and it's super easy - drag/drop and once it's done I burn with toast. Is there anything on the windows platform that is just as easy?

What do you guys use?

yes you literally drop the files in and click convert. obviously the first time youll want to double check settings but after that your drag and drop. You can either have a simple menu created or tell it to skip the menu.

That software will allow me to drop the video file (avi/mpeg) into it and make a DVD? have you used it?

Yes. It'll pretty much do the configurations for you, drag and drop, select dvd size (single or dual layer), name the DVD and burn.

It has more options available though should you want to customize things. Like change the menu formats, have no menu etc.

It's also very fast at encoding.

I've used it many times, even my Dad who's 65 years old has no problem using it. The burning is integrated too, so unlike your Mac you only need one piece of software.

Another vote for Convertxtodvd .. note that with the Trial version you will get a Watermark on your conversion. You can not remove the watermark except by purchasing the program and you will need to reconvert the file to remove the watermark. Convertx offers a 1 year support / upgrade policy, so any changes minor or major within that time frame are covered.

$49.99 for Convertxtodvd with 1 year of full support
For $119.99 you can get Gold Member status which has
Lifetime updates / upgrades and you get ALL of their products.

I initially went with 1 year as that is all I needed. In retrospect
the bundle deal comes out cheaper after 3 years.

Another vote for ConvertXToDVD.
Nerovision is slower and has syncing issues once in a while. ConvertXToDVD has never had sync issues for me, even when using the same files. I stopped using Nero a few years ago when they started to get bloated like Roxio.

ConvertXToDVD if I absolutely have to have something in DVD format. These days, there's hardly any players that won't read a data disc with avi files on it, so I just usually just burn them with out encoding.
