Easiest Program to Recover Deleted Files?

Greetings,

What is the easiest, cheapest ( hopefully shareware ) program to recover deleted files from the hard drive? I have a friend who had someone go into their computer and delete a boatload of pictures out of spite. Is there something you guys can recommend? I tried PC Inspector Recovery and it showed many .jpg files and listed them as "good" condition, but when I tried to save them to a file the filename was there but I was not able to view them. PNG files recovered fine however.

As a last resort it appears that "Uneraser" has high user marks but its $50.

Any help is appreciated.

Try Recuva. It's freeware. Includes the Ask Toolbar which you can decline. There's also a slim version without Ask.

Go to download.com and search for "recovery" Also there is a app called easy recovery
