My Parents have been wanting to go wireless for a while, but want the cheapest possible way.

Their current setup consists of

1x 512kb line
1x Linksys DSL/4-Port Switch/Router 100mb
3x XP machines

Is there some sort of device like a wireless Bridge that plugs into the spare CAT5 on the router???

Yap there is, it called Access Point.

Howvever it usually cost more than a Wireless Cable/DSL Router.

If you search the sales on the major computer hardware sites you would find a Wireless Router for about $20.

You can either replace your current Router or plug the Wireless Router as an Access Point.

Yeah, for some reason an Access point cost a lot more than a wireless router. I'd personally lose the old router and go with a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. has 4 100mb ports plus the wireless portion and costs about $60 in a retail store, but you can get it cheaper online.

It works well, and hasa ton of great features. For comparison, a basic Linksys Access point will run you closer to $100.

I just saw a wap11 linksys access point for sale with rebates for something like 26 bucks on amazon (free shipping). it's 802.11b, but that's a great price and should work fine for them. I picked up the wap54g from pcconnection for 42 bucks after rebates. But add shipping to that for around 50 bucks total. The routers that can be set up as APs go for much less on sale. But they are offering an 802.11b belkin for free after rebates at pcconnection. Or look around and an 802.11g router will be found for around 10 bucks or so after those rebates. Lots of possibilities.
