Earthquake?

Anyone else feel that? I'm just east of Ottawa. I thought it might have been a large truck (or my mother 😛) but my cousin in the city confirms that she felt it too.

Not really. There have been several minor earthquakes in the Ontario area. None rating higher than a 5.x though.
 
Neat. I'm in Burlington (just west of Toronto) and I have never felt an earthquake, although there have been many small ones here.
 
New Madrid fault is the largest one in NA, but fortunately mostly inactive, or memphis would sink into the mighty mississip. Streches from central quebec to the gulf of mexico, and last big one ( prior to turn of the last century) was felt from Que/Ont thru NY cty. philly, DC, Savannah, Charleston, Atlanta, N.O. LA, did quite abit of widespread damage too. Although resulted in only one fatality,( a man in a unfinished log cabin in New madrid, Ms was crushed by falling logs) the potential exist for real havoc, primarily because most buildings in its zone are not built like the right coast and many below flood level of the mississippi river.
 
I so want to feel an earthquake. Earthquakes happen quite often in New England but I never feel them because im always sleep.

back in 1986 we had a big tremor here in London Ontario. I was in the college book store at the time. It knocked me to the floor and books fell on me. Felt like a huge train going by. News said it was a 5. something.

Scary.

I"m just at hte border of Burlington & Oakville, and i've felt hte ground shake numerous times in the past 1.5yrs I've lived in this area. Like if I'm lying on the sofa, occassionally i can feel the floor moving just a little. I always thought I was crazy but it could be really minor earthquakes?

Have you felt the same thing before?

I felt one a couple years ago that was from up in Canada. (I live in southern NH) Twas about 6am, I thought my sister was shaking me awake.
