Interesting graphic from a Jawbone engineer that shows the percentage of users with their fitness wearables awake. Haha, the 25% around Napa that slept through the quake are champs.

I was awake tinkering around and the whole building shook for 20-30 secs, and I'm in the south bay. I haven't felt one like this in awhile. Couldn't help to think that maybe this was the big one. First order of business was to protect the 60" plasma!

lol.
Do you recall the series of ~3 smaller ones (I think 3.5-4.0 max) that we had within one week, about 2 years ago now? (maybe 3). They were Oakland and El Cerrito area, so you may not have felt them...

I am very close to those epicenters and for one of the larger ones, I was chilling at home in the early evening. Things started shaking, I jump up and start running around in circles, and instinctively run up to brace my television.

In my defense: I did not grow up here so I never went through that grade-school training you get...but I would certainly be dead if a serious one hits near by.

But I DO know how to prepare for a hurricane (basically run to the grocery store, buy all the bread, milk (no one understands why we do this), and beer (this is actually important), and camp out at home for the next week)

my house shook for a sec on Sat, and the last 2-3 times that happened, CA got an earthquake a day or so later. I was going to a post about, but got busy, then I heard the news the next day. I will definitely make a post next time it happens again. hope you don't see a post like that from me.

I don't usually notice them. If I was sleeping I don't think I would have noticed this one either, but I was wide awake working on something. Actually forgot I was living in earthquake country.
