Don't hold your breath, but I thinks I saw a prediction that in 63 million years, those parts of California West of the fault will arrive in present day Alaska. At 3" a year, it adds up to almost 3000 miles of displacement.

But there is little understanding of plate tectonics, and somewhere in this 63 million year process, its possible that directions could reverse, and Oh my God, California could drift right back like a damn bad penny.

5.0 = Damn kids and their car stereos...
6.0 = Hmmm... Interesting...
7.0 = Damn...
7.9 = Ok... I'm scared.
