Earthlink DSL knocked down all over S. Calif.?

No issues in SoCal right now for TimeWarner, at least.. any they're usually affected by the same outages.

Try calling their 800 number to tech support. 🙁 Bummer.

There DSL has been slowing down over the last 4 days, to a complete crawl. Apparently effecting most of S. Calif. L.A., and surrounding areas. There email servers for the area are virtually unusable.

No one having any trouble? (I guess if you were, you would not be able to tell us anyway.... 🙂)

I'm sure those liberal commie pinko anti-war protestors have something to do with it! 🙂

Verizon's calling centers was down... around 7 this evening. At first I was pissed cuz I thought their CSR hung up on me after I started yelling at them. Then after several tries to call back I realized that their centers were down and was confirmed by the CSR after 20 minutes

I tried to post to this thread last night and it didn't work... i guess that shows that I'm in the same "earthlink sucks" situation.

I think they're capping bandwidth so people can't go to CNN.com... dang hippie company. 😛

Service has improved this morning just within the last hour....
But speed tests are showing a huge slow down.

1.2Mbps plus (six months ago)
142Kbps over the last week.

Permanent? Or temporary?

Its official..... Earthlink is suck.

oh man... maybe it's a bit dated, but yeah guys. I'm feeling da lag... I live approx~ 20 mins from downtown LA and man.... it was slow as a crawl. It's not so bad anymore... but dude, it was horrible for a few days. Right now I'm just suffering from some all too common connection problems....

yeah, I too was saying, "earthlink is suck!" a few days ago...

A friend of mine with Earthlink DSL in Santa Monica had it working fine, then permanently lost synch / connection about 3 weeks ago and hasn't been able to get it back (he hates calling customer service). I made sure the DSL modem was properly power cycled etc., and that his system was set up (we even picked up a Linksys DSL router to clear up any possibility that XP was at fault). As soon as the modem tries to dial and authenticate, a couple of the indicator lights go out.

Either the wiring in his apt got suddenly worse for no reason, or there's a problem fairly locally on the Earthlink side. At least those are my best guesses. Wish he'd just call someone to check the line from that outdoor access point to rule out wiring in the apartment complex.
