but the best is to call and ask them

You may post:
Links to coupons on the issuing vendor's own site.

Links to scans of coupons that invite you to share them with your friends.

Links to scans of other coupons, AS LONG AS they do not state that copies or reproductions are not allowed, or that the coupon is valid only for the original recipient.

can you scan and post on to a site? i dont think it states that you cant reproduce it.. obviously they would have sent it to everyone were it possible..

aaaah.. why couldn't they have sent me that ad... ugh..

Great deal if you have Covad in your area, that way you can call and tell them you want Covad to provision your service with Earthlink. Get that full 1.5mb speed.

Where did you get/see this offer at? I think I might have gotten a postcard thingy in the mail
on it, but I threw it away not thinking that I would be interested in switching to Earthlink at the time.

Any info on it would be appreciated. michael@tempest-media.com

Thanks in advance!

Erockian -- Welcome to AT forums. :) I don't think you need a promo code for Earthlink deals, but asking for them on the forums is a no-no. Read the rules. ;)

Hi,

I have Earthlink (actually I have Mindspring, its same company), and your DSL speed depends upon who provides the DSL. My DSL was installed 2-years ago by Covad for EWarthlink and have the 1.5 mb/384 kb for download & upload speeds. However, I have a friend in the area (Maryland outside DC) who signed up with Earthlink but received half the speed because Verizon provided the DSL. The real problem was for months he repeated called Earthlink about the speed, and Earthlink repeated claimed that he had the 1.5 mb speed. Earthling finally admitted that he had 768 kb. My friend cancelled his Earthto contract and signed up with Covad for its 1.5 mb promotion. Earthlink may have multiple companies providing the DSL. So just because Earthling claims to provide the fast DSL, doesn't necessarily mean that you will get it. Note, I saw this same information posted on the forums at www.dslreports.com.

Earthlink eh? This could be hot if you are in the LA area because here in LA the service is done through COVAD. My neighbor gets Earthlink and his speeds are: 1.5Mbps DOWN/ 384 UP :Q that's great for DSL... and don't you Cable people crap on this thread because you get better than this because your speeds are not consistent and can change tommorrow depending on how many webhogs you have on your block.

Just my 2 cents.

RIG

Edit: wow dadio you beat my post by 2 mins. just goes to show how potentially hot this can be.

I have Earthlink DSL in the LA area, and my actual DSL service is provided by my local phone company, Verizon, @ 768/128kbps. Rather than admitting (or knowing at all) that it's capped if you get stuck with Verizon, Earthlink reps. just tell people line speed varies with distance from CO, etc.

I had earthstink back in january of this year and their service WAS AT THE LEAST HORRIBLE and HORRENDOUS. Beware of earthlink. This was in the West LA area, going through covad and SUPPOSEDLY getting 1.5MBS/384k. I was getting about 500-700k/50k and about 20% packet loss.

For those of you who complain about packet lose that could be in part contributed by local interferences and usually due to old and decrepit phone lines that have been around in your neighborhood since your street was built.... case in point was when my Girlfriend got dsl in her appartment she had a packet loss of nearly 50% so we were confined to 384/128, so we called a rep and they sent over a technician, we told him that we wanted 1.5Mbps like the contract said, but he said that we couldn't do it because of our crappy lines that were bundled up in when the appartment was built. So after paying $150 he ran a direct new line to her apartment and we've maintained a 1.5Mbps/128kpbs with pings as low as 15 on good servers near by.

Hope this clarifies the situation for those thinking that the problems that certain people here had were all the Covad's fault, cause its not (at least, not all the time).

Oh and no I don't work for Covad :)

Thanks for mentioning the dslreports information daddio1949. I found the exact link and promotional code at the dslreports forums very easily, but will not mention them here since it's prohibited. So look for it yourselves.
