Not to cr@p on your thread, but as I already did this let me list a few notable points for anyone considering it. There is a difference!
Pro's: *$3.00 per month savings
*Unlimited Dialup account
*Additional E-mails & Personal Web Space (fast web server!)
*Easy & well laid out Web-based e-mail avail.
Con's: *Tech support bites!, I jumped on this about 6 mo. ago and unless your willing to figure out how to fix it on your own don't disconnect the power to that modem just yet, I had to use an authorization server in order to send my outgoing e-mail until last week and even they didn't know what they changed in the system?, now finally the system recognizes my IP address as being an earthlink customer with the standard settings (whoa only took 6 months!). I constantly get the finger pointing (you need to call time warner or you need to call earthlink) from both of them when weird things have happened to my service, I have ended up fixing or diagnosing those myself!
*Slow newsgroups!, they are capped at 56k speed! (no biggie unless you use them)
*Possible price increase! (CSR indicated price should stay at 41.95 for at least one year- then set to go to 49.99 note 6mo. has already passed) might be worth a call to verify how long this price is expected to last!
*Unable to cash in on referrals, with time warner RR you are able to get $20.00 knocked off your monthly bill for every one you get to sign up. Earthlink does not offer this to their cable customers because they have time warner doing the billing for them and it's too much hassle (info from Earthlink CSR) although their weekly e-newsletter states differently!.
Just thought I'd point out some of the differences for you. Good and Bad, Best of Luck to You and All...
