The ones of Al Gore's property lit up like a Christmas tree at the time are probably better...

Haha look at Toronto and how poorly it performed compared to the others, what a sham, they should be embarassed about even putting that up there.

Actually, yes. With the oven, all the lights, and most every other plug in device turned on, my house was quite warm. Toasty even.

I'm surprised that as an entire race, sharing a single planet, we can only come together once a year for a single hour and turn off our electricity, or any unnecessary lights. I personally make sure every single light and most electronics are off before going to bed. Very rarely doing I leave my computer(s) on overnight, simply because I don't want to pay for electricity I'm not using. 6-8 hours VS 1, heh.

Cool pictures though.

I'm all for energy conservation, but those photos reek of hypocrisy. The most noticeable lights that are missing in the dark versions are entirely decorative, not functional. It's great that they took one hour out of the year and shut the lights off, but if they wanted to make a statement about energy conservation they wouldn't illuminate the outside and top of buildings for no practical purpose.

I like the one of the British Parliament buildings. The sky becomes so much clearer with the lights off.

What I learned from these pictures:

The Colosseum looks way cooler when it's not lit up.

Skyscrapers in China have so many external lights it's ridiculous. Seriously, #8 to the right of the red Aurora.. It's blindingly bright, the other 364 nights out of the year! I'd hate to be next door to that thing.

edit: oh yea

I especially liked how some of the hotels didn't even bother. That's American if I ever saw it.. a big "Fuck you, I'm gonna do things my way and I don't give a shit what you say about it" to the rest of the world.

We were out of weed too...but the jam session was good, given that some beers helped.
