I recomend these.

They work really well at blocking out sounds (bass, cars, banging, etc) but you can still talk to the person next to you..

They take a couple of days to get used to but you can use them as long as they stay clean (meaning wash your hands before you put the plugs in). They also make a sleeper version that softer, but it lets in a little more noise.

Those are my favorite too. We have about 5 different choices of earplugs at work.

try mack's. 😛

work out until the point of exhaustion
seriously, you will sleep and...tada, work/study/whatever you do better and with more clarity

I have no suggestions for what to use.

Definitely do not use headphones. I couldn't hear out of one of my ears for several days when I fell asleep with my headphones on and slept the wrong way. Not fun.

I use Hearos brand ear plugs. You can pick them up at Walmart. I use the blue 33db ones, I find them pretty comfortable.

I use a noise thing, plays white noise, helps alot.
 Waves every night. With the earplugs, you are also going to start hearing your own pulse.

Yeah, that's the main reason as to why I don't wear ear plugs at night. The sound of my own fvcking pulse drives me batty. A large fan works pretty good, though I also have good luck smashing a hammer on a cutting board on the walls and ceiling.

I am a very light sleeper.. I can wake up if my phone is on vibrate ON carpet. I use the Leight orange ones that I got on sale from rite aid. They are kinda uncomfortable but I can fall asleep in them. And if you sleep on your side, you can barely feel the ear plug in the ear that rests on the pillow. lol

I also fine that if i leave my air purifer on, the white noise generated helps ALOT. It blocks out some snoring, etc. You want something consistent for white noise, like your computer fan or something.

As for the pulse and heartbeat, I don't hear them with ear plugs. In certain positions I do, but you can adjust. Maybe it depends on the person.
