Earphones reversed...

I just ordered the Sennheiser PC150s, but when I put them on and played some games, I noticed my sound was reversed. It's like that with all of my headphones, but not with my speakers.

What could be causing this? Bad drivers? Is there a setting somewhere that I can change?

Thanks for any help.

Reverse stereo?

Speakers and headphones have the same 3.5mm jack, so the computer can't possibly detect you using headphone instead of speakers

Have you got your headphones wore the wrong way round?

Lol, now that you mention that, I checked my speakers. I have my "Front right" speaker to my lsft and my "Front left" speaker on my right...

Something's wrong here.

I see.
Did you mention "some" games? So not just one?

There's option called "reverse stereo" in some games which allow audio channels to interchange
I recommend checking windows mixer setting as well

Not just some, sorry. It's EVERYTHING. I try tests that came with my motherboard, and I try in-game tests all with the same results. The left sound goes in the right earpiece, and vice versa.

I'm going to try reinstalling drivers.

Still didn't work. Now there's NO variation between the left and right earphones. Everything is always equally loud in both.

Oh ok, I just installed the wrong driver. I re-installed the latest driver just now and I'm back to where I started. Left = right and right = left.

Did you look around your sound utility program? There might be an option for reversing the stereo (maybe).

If you can't find a software fix for this, you can do it with cables if you need to. It'll cost you a few bucks, but it will straighten things out.

I can't flip my headphones around because the mic doesn't go all the way to the other side. They're also extremely uncomfortable to wear backwards.

It looks like I'll be heading over to Staples today... Thanks.

And LOL at the guy who made the dyslexic comment. 😛

Didn't you say there was some cables I could get to manually reverse the channels?

I'll probably just get an Audigy 2 if they're not too much. This integrated sound has been causing nothing but trouble since the day I got my motherboard. I've been having so many problems with it.

I still can't get my surround sound to work after a year of trying new things. I think something's physically wrong with it...

Alright... but I don't know if you're going to be able to find the cables at staples.

You'd need one of these and one of these. The you match up white to red for both of them.

I don't know if staples would have something like that.

If you get a new soundcard, make sure you don't get ripped off 🙂
