So I got this weird issue... I bought a pair of earphones for a friend's daughter called "Zipbuds Fresh" and the mic doesn't work in her phone (some old LG) nor does it work in her mother's OnePlus One. There's just loud static sound coming from it when connected to either phone.

So I thought they're damaged or something. But I plugged them in to my own Xperia Z5c and the mic works fine. I also tried it on my sister's Xperia Z3c and it also works fine. Tried it also on a Lumia 625 and it also works fine.

So ATF... Any idea why the mic works when connected to some phones while it happens to not work on the two phones it's most needed to work in on?

Thanks a lot! Seems her LG only supports one standard (due to its Android OS version being very old and not being able to flip the mic/ground signals on demand) and her mother's OPO is just OnePlus being greedy and also supports only one mic/ground combination. And the headphones being Apple approved happen to use the other standard (ground and mic reversed vs the other standard). Xperia phones support both as do the Lumias, that's why they worked when I tried them on other phones...

Very interesting in general :) I've learned something new today, that's always nice. Now to find a CTIA>OMTP adapter for them...
