Donald Trump will be in Reno on Saturday, but the Republicans almost certainly lost Nevada on Friday.

Trump's path was nearly impossible, as I have been telling you, before what happened in Clark County on Friday. But now he needs a Miracle in Vegas on Election Day -- and a Buffalo Bills Super Bowl championship is more likely -- to turn this around. The ripple effect down the ticket probably will cost the Republicans Harry Reid's Senate seat, two GOP House seats and control of the Legislature.

How devastating was it, epitomized by thousands of mostly Latino voters keeping Cardenas market open open in Vegas until 10 PM? This cataclysmic:

----The Democrats won Clark County by more than 11,000 votes Friday (final mail count not posted yet), a record margin on a record-setting turnout day of 57,000 voters. The Dems now have a firewall -- approaching 73,000 ballots -- greater than 2012 when Barack Obama won the state by nearly 7 points. The 71,000 of 2012 was slightly higher in percentage terms, but raw votes matter. The lead is 14 percentage points -- right at registration. You know what else matters? Registration advantages (142,000 in Clark). Reminder: When the Clark votes were counted from early/mail voting in 2012, Obama had a 69,000 vote lead in Clark County. Game over.

This is what happens when you nominate a bigot, Republicans. You should have learned with Pete Wilson where that road leads, but you decided to take it national instead.

If the end result is that we don't enforce immigration laws then it really doesn't matter if a D or R is in charge. Either make it completely open borders or get on with the business of expeditiously deporting millions, the current status quo is exploitative to the extreme and immoral. A few million votes for Democrats or few million cheap workers for Republicans aren't worth your the cost of your soul for screwing these people over for a buck or a vote.

The polling is pretty tight in Nevada, but seems to be leaning to Trump at the moment. It's possible that the latino community is being under-sampled, but really who knows?

I'm not going to trust anything until the final result on November 8 (or 9).

Except he is. He allows for both Trump and Clinton holding a percentage of their base, he gives the majority of the independents to Trump, and he accounts for the fact that Republicans get better turnout than Democrats on election day.

With Dems getting more than 70,000 more registered voters to the polls than Reps during early voting Trump would have to hold almost the entire R base on election day, which he won't do (I live in NV and know that not all Rs like Trump), he'd have to get a large amount of D voters from Clinton (he'll get some but not enough) and he'll need the vast majority of the Independent vote (he won't get it, a lot of the new registered Indies are Hispanic and he does terribly with them in Clark).
