Hit the Bricks, Don't Need You No More . . .

Having served our nation for many years, they're being put out to pasture early.

I can see why the Bush Administration wants to trim the budget, but it's a pre-mature sacrifice
as the 'New Warriors' aren't up to their Mission capabilities yet.
Not much in the pipeline - and even those replacement programs are being curtailed in the face of saving 'Cubic Dollars'.

I could be wrong but I believe that budget grew nearly a half trillion dollars from last years budget, I dont see much trimming going on.

btw isnt the F-117 and F-22 going to eventually serve the same roles? Does the F-117 have a smaller radar image than the F-22?

Granted the thing didnt last long compared to other craft in the inventory, but I dont see if we have a newer plane to fill its roll why we should keep a legacy around.

The timeline for the F117A (as proposed) dovetails with full operational deployments of the F22 and JSF.

Someone figures that stealth carries less value than technology.

So will they also look at dumping the B2?

F-22 has been stretched out several more years, and cut down in totals to 183 which drives the price up
as it extends the acquisition time to bring the reduced fleet to full deployment.

F-35 is years away from your seeing them in the local airshow, or even in a neighborhood near,
or even remotely close to you.

Plans are to cut the Air Force by 40,000 members as well - all in the face of 'Terror Threats' from abroad.
Doesn't sound like this 'GOP Partiotic Support the Troops' clowns are evenb close to doing that,
unless you call giving all the cntracts and money to Halliburton a plan to defeat forieng agressions.

The bean counters look at the propaganda timelines; not realistic production levels.
