I'm a hetero guy, so I probably don't understand why people think Brosnan is so "hot" as 007. D. Craig on the other hand, is built and probably will get more ladies than a leather handbag.

Haven't seen the movie yet, I'm sure Daniel Craig will be good in Casino Royale. He was awesome in Layer Cake.

"Casino Royale is the greatest bond film made to date"

That was my prediction as well... from what I know thus far, the story is hands down the best, period. After all, it is the original Bond story, correct?

I guess I will see tomorrow if the film is really one of the best, if not the best, Bond film to date. I am optimistic.

I liked Brosnan. I see anyone else and my brain wont accept that they are supposed to be Bond.

I like Brosnan as bond as well... however the CGI in his movies went over the top at times. His Bond movies were more about special effects/killing/action than storyline.

That wasn't his fault though.

Movie was superb, one of the best Bond movies to date for sure, could definitely contest for the best. I liked Daniel Craig, he's a cool, tough guy, however...I'm not sure I like him as Bond yet, didn't seem like a fitting role for him. I didn't like the choice before, and I'm still not sure about it. He did a great job in this movie, acting, stunts, fighting were all top notch. I'll definitely see the next Bond movie he does, but I'm not ready to rank him among the Bonds yet, maybe I just need 2 or 3 years to get used to him. Very well done movie though, I wasn't too sure what to expect.

posted this in the other thread, but felt compelled to post it here also

just came back from seeing it. this is how a bond movie should be. fantastic movie. loved it! IMO Brosnan was too suave. A spy should be cutthroat, ruthless and Craig played that role well. IMO he did an awesome job as Bond. The only thing I didnt like about Craig was that he looked like he was always pouting, but I guess thats his natural look.

Also the story was great - a little slow at times, but that broke up the action well. They made a good decision by reinventing Bond. I highly recommend it.

I went from Craig doubter to Craig believer.

Think of it as "Bond Begins."

Eh, my friend complained about the product placements, too. But I thought they were more subtle than most films. Other than the crappy Ford rental car that Bond drove at the beginning, none of the placements were out of place.

Her Majesty's Secret Service is the best Bond film and best Bond actor.

i haven't seen the first movies (chronologically) but Brosnan was so good and fir the role so nicely that's it's difficult to Craig replace him and accept it. also, shouldn't M look younger then? or maybe she should be L?

I liked Casino Royale. I was a little iffy about the new bond guy, but I think he pulls it off. A tad edgier, which was nice. I hope to see more Bond in the coming years.
