Funny thing about coming to work at 4am.... It's peaceful and I can actually get stuffz done. I'm upgrading 3 systems....sad part is that one of them has a degraded drive that caused the system to crash....thus backups didn't go so well tonight. :(

I guess I'll have to suck it up and maybe do some real testing after the backups anyhow to make sure the backup software will work after the upgrades complete...

Other than all that Goood Morning ATOT....:D

I've been slacking for the last couple of weeks... I had this conference in Chicago last week....all I did was party and skip conference sessions to sleep and surf the web in my hotel room. I guess that's just a work "perk".

Hahaha...now you sound like me. At my job I pretend I'm slower at programming than I am so I get considerable time to work. Then I go on ATOT or other websites and chat on AIM with my friends. When it's approaching deadline I get to work and finish the task in about 1/3 the time given!

It's not that bad though. I'm more helping my dad's start-up than actually working there. When college starts (freshman; I'm youngish) the slacking has to end!

We all said that. In all honesty, you'll end up slacking and probably being rewarded just the same as the guy that works his tail off... Of course this is advise coming from a low-paid government worker. :D

work is nice at nights :)

except for tonight, when I had to wake up the CTO at 3 am for something dumb (dumb, but the person in charge must've turned his cellphone off before going to bed and the CTO was next on the list of people to call)

I've had to do that....I once worked for this company that put the CEO's right hand man (or whatever they're called) on the list for one of the IIS servers. (gathered data for Crystal reports) I could have easily gone into the server room and fixed the problem, but I didn't have a key due to security/access issues. I'm so glad to now be able to fix stuff myself without having to wait 2 hours for someone to get out of bed and drive into work. :p

That's probably true. Every year in high school I'd say "this year I'm not going to slack at all" and yet everytime I'd find myself gaming instead of studying. Still got into a good school - UCSD - which should theoretically be less forgiving to my slacking but...I'll probably still slack.

Slacking started junior year in high school and has continued on for 5 years for me. Heck I should be sleeping cuz I have class at 10am, but... nah...
