I built a system for a friend of mine around this time last year, I didn't really put together the greatest system, but at the time it all seemed like a good idead. Anyway one of his siblings might have hit the PC while he was away (might have from a 6 year old means they hit it as hard as possible). Now there is no video output, the geforce fan doesn't spin, and the CPU fan plugged into the header close to the agp slot doesn't spin. The NIC gets a link light at the cable modem, and the hard drive spins.

I tried
1. Flash bios.
2. Replug everything
3. Attempt to start sitting on an antistatic bag with only a video card.
4. Switching video, ram, power supply (athlon compliant).

None of these produced a result, and I don't have another athlon board or chip to test with.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

His system:
Athlon Classic 500@500
128MB PC100
FIC SD11
Creative Geforce SDR
TB Montego Vortex1
Linksys NIC
27 GB Maxtor 5400RPM HD
10X Pioneer DVD

sounds like an acute sign of power supply failure. Those amd chips suck the life out of power supplies

I switched out whatever unrecommended PS that I orginally put in it for my month old Antec 303 300W PS that Anand recommends for athlons, same problem.

I wish I had another friend with an athlon, but being a 16 year old high school student with mostly stoner friends, I only have 3-4 friends that would even know if they had an athlon, much less pop it out of their case and give it to me to test.

I can only get one of the fan headers on the motherbaord to work. The Geforce fan spins a little if you start it yourself (think WWII prop planes that need to be pulled to start), but not at full speed. I left it on for a minute or so and the geforce and athlon heatsink got a little warm, so they're getting some power.
